In March Francis went to the NASIT 2026 conference in Portland, Oregon, USA. The North American Society of Interventional Thyroidology (NASIT) had its first annual meeting in 2023 and its members include surgeons, interventional radiologists and endocrinologists. Topics presented at the meeting this year included radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of small papillary thyroid cancers and parathyroid adenomas. Professor Jung Hwun Baek from Seoul, Korea gave the opening address. He has been performing RFA of thyroid nodules for over 20 years. Professor Baek taught Francis RFA of thyroid nodules in 2023. It was good to catch up with Professor Baek and be surrounded by like minded colleagues from all over the world.
