Miranda, Lydia and Francis have recently returned from a two-and-a-half-week trip to the USA.
Their daughter Lydia, who has just turned 21, has long wanted to go to New York and see the Statue of Liberty. She also loves musicals. So they went, saw the Statue of Liberty and went to three musicals – Wicked, Aladdin and Michael Jackson.
Francis highly recommends a twilight harbour cruise. After 6 days in New York it was off to Detroit to stay with their friends, the Stachlers – Francis worked at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit from 2010 to 2015. Although the purpose of the trip was to have a holiday, he did spend a morning with his good friend, Dr Robert Stachler, saw a few patients as an observer and picked up a few ideas. He also watched 3D ultrasound with their friend Katie Millar. Katie is a sonographer.
After 5 days in Detroit, it was off to LA. Yes, Lydia and Miranda wanted to see Universal Studio and the Hollywood Walk of Fame (spot the Zac Efron fan). In LA they had dinner with Dr Syed Ahsan, Rosmarie and their daughters. Dr Ahsan is a neuroradiologist that Francis worked with in Detroit. Before returning home, they spent a few days in Santa Barbara.
What a lovely place!
